Your worksheet

Print double-sided and choose “flip on long edge”. Backs line up with their fronts.

To save a PDF, choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Sized for letter paper.

How to make flashcards

  1. Type one card per line: the front, a dash, then the back. For example, 7 × 8 - 56 or bonjour - hello.
  2. Choose how many cards fit on a page. Larger cards are easier to read across a classroom.
  3. Choose a print style: double-sided, fold in half, or fronts only.
  4. Print, cut along the dashed lines, and start practising.

Ideas for using flashcards

  • Math facts: addition, subtraction and times tables, with the answer on the back.
  • Sight words: one word per card for quick daily reading practice.
  • Vocabulary: the word on the front and the definition on the back, for any subject.
  • French and other languages: the French word on one side and English on the other.
  • Study tips for older students: say the answer before you flip, and sort cards into “know it” and “not yet” piles.

Frequently asked questions

Is the flashcard maker free?

Yes. You can make and print as many flashcards as you like, without an account.

How do I print double-sided flashcards?

Choose Double-sided, then in the print window turn on two-sided printing and choose flip on long edge. Each back page is mirrored so the answers line up behind the right fronts.

What if my printer cannot print double-sided?

Choose Fold in half. Each card prints with the front on the left and the back on the right. Cut along the dashed lines and fold each card on the middle line.

Can I make one-sided flashcards, like sight words?

Yes. Type one word per line with no back, and choose Fronts only.

How many cards can I make?

Up to 80 cards at once, with 4, 6, 8 or 10 cards on each page. The text on each card is sized automatically so it fits.
